SpaceX and Cursor released Grok 4.5, their first jointly-trained AI model, and it is a working blueprint for consolidation done right.

The model was trained on trillions of tokens from Cursor’s codebase data. It learned how real developers think through problems, hit dead ends, and use tools creatively to solve them. The result is an AI that handles long-running coding tasks, data science, finance, legal work, anything requiring a computer to accomplish it.

Grok 4.5 runs at 80 tokens per second with twice the efficiency of competing models at the same tasks. Pricing is $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output. It is available in Grok Build, inside Cursor on all plans, and from the SpaceX console.

What makes this work is that Cursor did not get absorbed into SpaceX. It stayed Cursor. The two companies built one thing together instead of trying to merge two cultures. That is the template for acquisitions in the age of AI.
